If you are changing MIS provider it is important that you let us know before you change. If you don’t let us know then we will no longer be able to access your data, and your SchoolPing/ DB Primary accounts will not be synced with your MIS anymore, which means that they will not get updated.

How does your MIS data get to New Era?

A company called Xporter (Groupcall) provide a piece of software called ‘Xporter on Demand’ (XOD for short) and this is installed on your server. Every night it connects to your MIS and takes the data is needs and holds it in the cloud for New Era to access. We then access this set of data in the early hours of the morning and any look for any changes which have been made from the previous day’s data. Any changes are then detected, and your SchoolPing/ DB Primary accounts will be updated accordingly.

What do you need to do if you are changing your MIS provider?

Step 1: Let us (New Era) know you are changing MIS provider. You can contact us on educationsupport@neweratech.co.uk. Please let us know which provider you are changing to and which provider you are changing from. The date on which the change will occur is also useful for us to know. We will then switch off our data sync jobs with you until we have heard that the changeover has been successfully completed.
Step 2: Let Xporter (Groupcall) know you are changing MIS provider. You can contact them by filling out this form found here
Step 3: Xporter (Groupcall) will then make the required changes on their side and will send you instructions on how to re-connect to Xporter on Demand.
Step 4: Let Xporter (Groupcall) know once you have re-connected and they can then check everything looks ok and is working as expected. Once the changeover is complete, they will email you to let you know.
Step 5: Once Xporter (Groupcall) have confirmed with you that the changeover has been successfully completed, let us (New Era) know. We will then switch back on our data sync jobs and map your new data to your accounts. Don’t worry- all your accounts will stay the same and your login details won’t have changed.
